NORTH AUBURN, Placer County — The Auburn Recreation District’s Regional Park provides an extensive public recreation site in the unincorporated North Auburn area, with sports courts, a disc-golf course, playgrounds and picnic facilities.
The district’s official park directory identifies 3770 Richardson Drive, Auburn, CA 95602. It describes a pond surrounded by a walking path, a creek through the north end of the property and an 18-hole disc-golf course. Other listed amenities include basketball and pickleball courts, ball fields, two playgrounds, picnic areas, barbecue pits and restrooms.
Which picnic spaces need reservations?
The district explains that ordinary scattered picnic tables are generally first-come, first-served, while larger designated group picnic areas may be reserved. The official reservation guide directs applicants to customer service at 530-885-8461, option 6.
Some organized activities require additional permission, particularly amplified sound, inflatable attractions and alcohol. Applicants should verify the date, space capacity, current price, deposits and insurance requirements before arranging an event.
Accessibility and safety
Park surfaces, court access and paths vary across the site. Visitors should follow current signs and ask staff about accessible routes or any maintenance closures. A facility listed on a map may be unavailable during a tournament, storm cleanup or construction.
The park has the same Auburn postal designation as some city addresses, but it is an important recreation destination for North Auburn’s unincorporated neighborhoods. Do not confuse it with a separate park named Recreation Park in the City of Auburn.
